Ingredients

  • Broken rice (Pacharisi or Parboiled Rice) – 1 cup
  • Water – 3 cups
  • Green chilies – 2 (slit)

  • Curry leaves – a few
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Split urad dal – 1 tsp
  • Chana dal – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida (Hing) – a pinch
  • Ghee or oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – as needed
